The Patients Nothing Else Was Reaching
A few years into practice, I started noticing a small group of patients who weren't responding to structural correction or nutritional work the way most people did. What stood out was how many of them had a history of significant emotional trauma or ongoing struggles managing stress and emotion. That pattern led me to research the Emotion Code and Body Code -- techniques designed to identify and release trapped emotional and energetic patterns that can interfere with the body's ability to heal.
What These Techniques Actually Address
The premise is straightforward: emotional experiences, especially unresolved or traumatic ones, can become "trapped" in the body in ways that create ongoing physical and energetic interference. This isn't a replacement for structural or nutritional care -- it's a third pillar that, for the right patient, can unlock progress that structure and nutrition alone weren't producing.
Who This Tends to Help
- Patients with chronic pain that hasn't responded to structural correction despite consistent care
- Individuals managing fibromyalgia or other conditions with a strong stress or nervous-system component
- Patients with a known history of trauma who feel "stuck" despite doing everything else right
- Anyone who feels their emotional state and physical symptoms are clearly connected but hasn't had a framework to address both together
How a Session Works
Sessions are gentle, non-invasive, and don't involve traditional talk therapy -- they're a structured process for identifying and releasing specific trapped patterns. Many patients describe feeling lighter, calmer, or notice physical tension easing after a session.
Part of a Complete Picture
I think of structure, nutrition, and emotional health as three interconnected pillars. Most patients only need one or two addressed to see real progress with chiropractic care alone. For the smaller group who've hit a plateau despite doing everything else right, the emotional piece is often what's been missing.
No Judgment, No Assumptions
I don't assume every patient needs this work, and I won't push it on you. We talk about your history and your response to care so far, and if it seems like a fit, we discuss it as an option -- not a requirement.
What This Work Is Not
I want to be clear about what this isn't: it's not a replacement for professional mental health treatment, and I always encourage patients working through significant trauma to have appropriate mental health support alongside anything we do here. This work sits alongside that care, not instead of it, addressing a specific energetic and physical layer that talk therapy alone doesn't always reach. If you're currently working with a therapist or counselor, I always want to know that so we can coordinate appropriately rather than working in isolation from each other.
How This Fits Into Your Overall Timeline
For patients where this work is relevant, it's typically introduced alongside, rather than instead of, ongoing structural and nutritional care, since all three pieces tend to reinforce each other rather than working in isolation. We don't front-load every new patient with every technique available -- we start with what your history and presentation actually suggest is needed, and add additional layers only if progress with the initial approach stalls out.
A Gentle, Patient-Led Pace
We never push this work faster than a patient is comfortable with -- some people want to explore it thoroughly right away, others prefer to ease in gradually or focus primarily on structural and nutritional care first. The pace is entirely led by what feels right for you, not a fixed protocol applied uniformly to every patient regardless of their comfort level.
